ICB 2 Computerised

ICB Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping is ideal for people wishing to upgrade to AICB membership and gain a professional qualification using Sage
We are the only company offering a choice of software for your learning. Sage Instant Accounts or Sage 50 Accounts Professional. The sage Instant Accounts option focusses entirely on the ICB syllabus, whereas the Sage 50 Professional option also covers three bonus levels of Sage training worth up to £245 if purchased separately, along with three extra certificates of competence, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Computerised bookkeeping is now the preferred method as it is less time consuming and easier to process transactions and reports than the traditional manual methods. Most Bookkeepers and Accountants are now using accounting software in order to remain efficient and competitive. It is also a requirement if you wish to attain AICB membership status.
Prerequisites.
The ICB Level 1 Manual Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent must have been completed prior to being able to sit the examination for this course.
About this Course:
There are three main software packages provided by Sage, each developed for use by different types of business. Training Link are the only ICB Accredited training provider to offer students a choice when it comes to Computerised Bookkeeping and Payroll studies.
Choosing the right package is crucial as it could have a major impact when setting up a bookkeeping business or applying for jobs.
Option 1:
Sage 50 Accounts Professional. This package is recommended for and used by professional Bookkeepers, Accountants and corporates. It has the capability to deal with unlimited stock control, special products, foreign currencies, forecasting, special products and discounting plus many many more features.
It can handle unlimited business clients and be licensed for several independent users in a bookkeeping or accountancy business.
Sage 50 Accounts Professional is the most suitable package to learn as it eliminates the need for extra training. Once you have learnt this package you will be able to easily adapt to the other packages and also be in a position to apply for jobs with the any company using Sage. Most jobs advertised will require the applicant to be familiar with this top package.
Due to the cost of the fully licensed software being in the region of £1100.00 to buy we have negotiated an exclusive deal with Sage to provide you with 180 days use of the software for your studies. This is usually more than sufficient but we can extend this time in certain circumstances subject to an additional fee.
This software has been developed by Sage specifically for training purposes and is fully functional. It is not freely available from Sage and not to be confused with free trials and demo versions available.
(Beware of using free trials as they are limited in content and as such not capable of generating the reports required for the ICB exams)
As an added bonus You will also receive three Sage Business Partner competence certificates, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced which can be used independently as evidence that you have demonstrated competence and understanding of the Sage 50 Accounts Professional package.
The training package includes:
- 3 comprehensive workbooks containing lessons, examples and tasks covering the Sage 50 Accounts professional software
- 3 Sage 50 Accounts Professional completion certificates. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
- 180 days use of Sage 50 Accounts Professional software
- Qualified priority tutor support by e-mail and telephone
- Free syllabus updates if required
- Mock exam marking with feedback
- Free repeat lessons
- Registration fee
- Free Postage and packaging
Option 2:
Sage Instant Accounts. This is the most basic and least expensive package provided by Sage and is designed for Sole traders and small businesses. Not Professional Bookkeepers. The software is only licenced and legally capable of being used for a single business. A professional bookkeeper whether self-employed or in employment would be expected to deal with more than one business client, and as such it is imperative that a more advanced package should be used.
In general ICB Training Providers use the Sage Instant Accounts software for ICB courses due to its low cost and also the fact that there is far less content other than what is required to pass the ICB examinations, which in turn results in less study material, less tutor integration and a shortfall in student knowledge of the software package commonly found in a bookkeeping or accountancy practice.
This can result in further time and costs being incurred at a later date where extra training may be required when faced with having to use a more advanced Sage software package.
The software is only available as a fully licenced package and if your intention is to carry out bookkeeping tasks for just one business it represents good value for money, but if it is intended for use within a bookkeeping practice with more than one client then it will be of no further use once the courses are completed. It also has no future value with Sage when upgrading to a different package.
The training package includes:
- Sage Instant Accounts fully licenced software
- Workbook
- Qualified priority tutor support by e-mail and telephone
- Free syllabus updates if required
- Mock exam marking with feedback
- Free repeat lessons
- Registration fee
- Free Postage and packaging
